Softball Uniform List (Revised 2007)

SHIRT; JACKET

  • Powder blue short sleeved pullover shirt, brand name Majestic (purchased from authorized supplier)

  • White tee-shirt to be worn under the pullover shirt; no sleeves worn under the blue shirt are to be visible (if long sleeves are worn, the jacket MUST also be worn)

  • White turtleneck sweater to be worn ONLY with jacket

  • Navy blue snap down jacket with no logo (for recreational softball) (purchased from the RCUA)

  • Navy blue snap down jacket with NYSSO logo (for BOCES softball) (purchased from authorized supplier)

PANTS

  • Navy blue dress trousers (Sears Flex slacks)

  • Navy blue dress shorts (optional); if worn, MUST be from the ASA catalog (identified as Item #TW-Umpire shorts, New Teamwork Shorts-w/Gripper waistband and a 7" seam)

SHOES; SOCKS

  • All black (100% black) base or plate shoes; shined; black laces

  • Navy blue or black socks (to be worn ONLY with long pants)

  • White crew length athletic socks with no logo (to be worn ONLY with shorts); shorts are only to be worn for recreational softball, not BOCES school softball

HATS

  • PSAL Plate: Navy blue plate or combo hat (no logo)

  • PSAL Base: Navy blue base hat (no logo)

  • Recreation ball Plate: Navy blue plate or combo (no logo)

  • Recreation ball Bases: Navy blue base hat with RCUA (furnished free of charge by RCUA to all new members who work recreational softball)

  • Combo hat is NOT to be worn on the bases

ACCESSORIES; EQUIPMENT

  • Black or navy blue umpire's lightweight mask with extended throat protector and black harness (padding must be black or natural/tan).

  • Optional Cooper or Easton goalie style helmet/mask black or navy blue. No hat worn underneath.

  • If standard size shin guards are worn, they MUST be worn with long pants, and MUST be under the pants

  • If shorts are worn, shin guards MUST be the smaller, soccer shin guards, and MUST be worn under the white socks (the shin guards must NOT be visible)

  • Inside chest/body protector (Hoenings style recommended) must be worn under outer most garment.

  • Black (standard) dress belt, with standard buckle (no logo)

  • Navy blue gloves

  • Navy blue ball bag with NO logo

  • Indicator

  • Pocketsize plate brush

  • Ballpoint pen or pencil

  • Athletic supporter with protective cup.
